Welcome to my website!

I am a senior researcher and lecturer in the Department of Political Science and in the Institute for European Global Studies of the University of Basel. I am also a lecturer at the University of Luzern and at the University of Bern.

Before joining Basel, I was a Max Weber postdoctoral fellow at the European University Institute. I have a PhD from the University of Oxford, Nuffield College.

My research has been published in Governance, Journal of European Public Policy, Journal of Common Market Studies and European Union Politics, among others.

*** In July 2024, Krzysztof Krakowski and I will present Happy to host them as long as they leave? The reception of refugees in Poland and Romania at CES in Lyon. We received a small grant from Kings College London to conduct the survey.

2023

*** In November 2023, I was elected to the executive board of ECSA Suisse (European Communities Studies Association). ***

*** In September 2023, I am presenting a paper on the invocation of the past at the Dreiländertagung in Linz. ***

*** In June 2023, I attended CES in Reykjavik. I presented my newest project on the invocation of the past and work on European studies in Asia. ***

*** In March 2023, I got nominated for the Teaching Excellence Awards at the University of Basel. These are awarded every two years. ***
